How to retire on $10,000 a year

I can't believe the gall that Financial Advisors and their Institutions have when they tell us they want to help with our retirement planning, and they say it with a straight face. There's an army of useless university grads spending hours every day tracking stocks and bonds and funds and trends yada yada. I'm sure its all so very important to them but it doesn't mean a hill of beans to any of us with real jobs. These self-important so and so's have so many ways to help us increase our little nest egg and separate us from our money to the tune of 8 or 9 trillion dollars in the US and Canada alone. These banks, fund and Income Trust companies spend millions of our dollars advertising their services and trying to scare us into investing or purchasing RRSP's so that we can have a comfortable retirement when we grow old. Some advisors will tell you that you will need 70% of your total yearly income to live at an approximate lifestyle that you enjoy today. Others say you will need at least a million dollars for your 20-30 years of retirement.(Because we are all living longer these days.) Whew, some of us will have strokes and coronaries stressing as we save save save, invest invest invest. What happens is your snot-nosed kids get all the cash and you end up as worm food.

I am going to tell you how you can live simply and stress free and retire earlier then you thought. (You may have to move away from your city you grew up in though.) First, you sell everything you own except your car, it's all materialistic junk anyways. Buy 30 acres of wooded property with firm ground and lots of medium to mature trees. It should have some wild birds and assorted game of course. Hire some company to cut down a whack of mature trees and for payment, offer half of all the trees cut down. Get a bunch a buddies to help you build a log cabin with a sweet porch and fix it up nice inside, don't forget to purchase a big honking wood stove to keep you toasty warm at night and in the winter. Purchase a ton of seeds and a rifle, that's going to be for the bulk of your food. For the finer things you can make yourself a potato still and a mini greenhouse for your herb. Nudge nudge, wink wink. You're almost there. Now you buy yourself one of those 5000 watt Cummins diesel generators and get a sunken fuel storage tank to load up for future situations and then hire somebody to dig a fresh water well right there in the back yard.

You will be looking at a modest cash outlay at the start, but if you have a little gumption and intestinal fortitude you will be alright till you're 80 or even 90 years old. I think thats how they did it a 100 years ago and there is NO reason why you can't do it right now.

You're welcome.

Just wait for the update.

I've been reading a lot about the new Windows Vista since it's grand inception Jan. 30th and I had to laugh when I heard just about every sales person tell me, wait for awhile till most of the bugs get ironed out. Wow, and new becomes old again! Being a senior service tech for a very large global office equipment company I have seen more then my fair share of bugs.

When you are under the gun every day making sure that brand new connected, digital multi-function products work properly, it can be a very stressful and frustrating endevour. These technological wonders are very expensive and people expect them to work flawlessly. You have fax, colour copying, network printing and high speed scanning to desktop or email, these babies can do it all. Well they're supposed to anyways. What's running all these wonderful features is a mini harddrive loaded with specialized software programs that work in harmony with each other. For the most part anyways, that is the idea. But things can go horribly wrong and a lot of times they do. The compatibility of this system software, bugs that lock up or freeze a portion of it or a corrupted file at install can all spell disaster for the company. And the svc tech is usually stuck in the middle, pissed off and fuming. Let's see, there is fax version 19.20 and scanner ver. 21.90 then there's Language ver. 23.20 and of course system ver. 12.80. Months later, you are told that to solve that nagging hang when sending booklets that are double sided and larger than 11X14, you have to install system ver. 15.70. And look! Here is a new version of the fax software so that the damn machine won't dial New Zealand all night after everyone has all gone home.

Wow, I love progress. I love technology, and new electronic gadgets and their operating systems that let them do all sorts of wonderful stuff. I know its just as difficult making the programs that run the toys as it is to create those very toys themselves, maybe even more difficult. But those people that do create the software, get paid more then the engineer dreaming up these neat toys, so they should take their foqueing heads out of their ass and get their shite together!

SEX=LUST

I was reading an article in my MSN homepage from some so-called sex expert talking about sex myths for couples and it got me pissed off because it seems that women STILL don't foqueing get it. The point was labelled Sex=Intimacy. I would have laughed if i wasn't so goddamn angry. This misinformed "sexpert" had the audacity to continue the myth of sex(lovemaking) being the perfect time to be loving and intimate with your husband/partner and you must take the time and plan a wonderful afternoon or evening together to strengthen your relationship.

I don't understand, that in this day and age, women are still believing that SEX(lovemaking) is a perfect way to engage in intimacy and cuddling with their loved one. Maybe that's the way it is in a lesbian relationship but otherwise its all a load of horseshit. The sooner women wakeup and truly understand what makes a man tick, the better all hetero relationships will become. Sometimes i wonder if women have these mental blinders on just to irritate and piss us off and keep us off balance all the time. I can't see any other reason why they continue to ignore this simple basic fact.

Nothing in this world is so blatantly at odds with each other then men and women's ideas/rationalities on SEX(lovemaking). We call it having sex, they call it making love. Those two phrases are completely opposite of each other and the only time i can see that working is if you're married to a nymphomaniac. Oh joy, oh bliss. My wife and I for at least 12 years of our marriage, when we had sex we would orgasm simultaneously. That is a credit to my patience, technique and compromise, but it was my intervention that accomplished that. We just got the sex down to a fine art. If i had my way, i would blow my load then roll over until i was hard again then blow my load, roll over until i was hard and continue that until i fell asleep.

When women talk about sexuality today, it seems that they enjoy the foreplay and sex er lovemaking as a way to feel all cuddly and romantic and that leads to intimacy which hopefully brings the couple closer together. This intimacy strengthens the bond between them which makes lovemaking that much more enjoyable and more fulfilling!! That is really too bad that they feel that way because for most men, this couldn't be any further from the truth. The instant after orgasm is the only time when that cuddly, romantic feeling would ever cross their mind. If they don't roll over and fall asleep first. I'll bet the majority of men could have sex doggy-style while watching a porno movie then after, get ready for church. The two thoughts are separate and far apart so it can be put aside, forgotten or rationalized away very easily.

This sexual hunger/urge has been with men for over 100,000 years and because it's a sex urge, it will never change. Women HAVE to understand it, get over it and try to incorporate it into their lives for better or worse.

Tears for Queers

I almost bust a gut when i saw the picture of Dubya with tears streaming down his cheeks. His head was turned just so and it looked to me like he was trying to get maximum exposure for as many cameras as possible. After i finished laughing my head off, i thought to myself that this little shite was desperate for some good press. Little man was hoping to show the world that he actually gave a rat's ass for the poor men and women that are trying to survive in the shithole that is Iraq. The mentally challenged delinquent wants to send 20,000 more soldiers over there to miraculously solve the security problems and the horendous violence in and around Baghdad.

The day that we saw U.S. Forces drape the U.S.(I mean Iraqi) flag over the face of Sadaam's statue i turned to my brother and said "its not over by a long shot, if they stick around, there is going to be a lot of dead US soldiers over there." No one can occupy a Middle East country and not have a major bloodbath on their hands. It just won't happen.

A dozen years ago i said that the next world war is going to be the Hot War and my prediction is slowly coming to pass. The radical Muslim and Islamic world is developing a major hate on for the United States and the western world and they are going to rise up and bring the wrath of god(allah) against their enemies... Don't let them kill you!

The Health Care Industry brings in billions of dollars every year because most people don't care what they put into their mouths. The crap that passes for "food" in this day and age is so pathetic you wonder how the US and Canadian FDA can sleep at night. The problem of obesity and heart disease is so prevalent in today's society, you can't help but think that these two groups are in bed together. Alright, you OK the mystery salami and I'll diagnose the colon cancer. Sweet deal huh?

I will always remember a thought some fellow had on the internet a while back, "our bodies' genes and chemical makeup haven't changed in over 100,000 years and yet we are eating food that was engineered by people in white lab coats with clipboards." That's food for thought isn't it? The food additives our bodies can't figure out, do not get digested but are stored in the fat deposits around our waists and thighs and slowly poison healthy cells and give us cancers.

People have to eat more fibre, more healthy greens and vegetables and protein and complex carbohydrates. Also, stay away from white flour products like white rice, white bread, certain baked goods that are nothing but sugar. Once you become insulin resistant then you might as well forget about getting your energy from glucose because you'll just feel like sleeping after one of those meals. Protect your health, eat right, instead of being a burden to our health care system, we can be a burden to our old-age pension system.

Nuke em all Part II

Earlier, i mentioned that years ago my brother had been to some miserable parts of this world and seen some truly horrific scenes. These images run through his mind almost every night and prevent him from having even a few hours of decent sleep. He can't seem to stay grounded in his day to day life at times, and its a real shame to see because he really had it together when he was younger.

The news we see on TV and in the papers has been depressing and mind-numbing to say the least. If it's not Mother Nature hitting us with all she's got then it's man killing man and the news crews are bringing it to us up to the minute and in glorious high-definition clarity. Sometimes I feel like jumping off a bridge.

The one hotspot that gets me the most is Southern Afghanistan. I get very emotional because roughly 2400 Canadian soldiers are in harm's way fighting the Taliban and certain segments of Al Qaida including Osama Bin Ladin. These monsters, and anyone like them must be stopped quickly so they don't slowly suck the life out of good people and their efforts to build something special for their families. (Ok, so democracy and western civilization isn't all it's cracked up to be.) My point is there has to be an organization or group of concerned individuals with the power to make certain decisions in order to eradicate this blight on our world decisively and without remorse... I was thinking of a dirty bomb with a low kiloton yield that just happened to accidently fall out of it's bomb bay cradle on a region of southeastern Afghanistan/northwestern Pakistan and rid the world of these miserable foques once and for all.

Nuke em all

My brother is a 20 year veteran of the Canadian Military recently retired on a medical discharge diagnosed with PTSD. He has been to Bosnia, Rwanda and the first Gulf War. He has told me of some of his experiences that have made me sick and nauseous to hear it. A woman sniper from Sarajevo who kept a tally of young people killed and she is presently living in Toronto. Happening upon a burning pile of flesh that used to be a family out in the desert near the Iraqi border with Kuwait. And seeing a huge pile of dead woman and children with no arms and legs piled as high as a 5 ton truck.

These images must have been horrible to witness and i don't think i could have been strong enough to spend any amount of time in these hellholes. I tip my hat to my brother and all the men and women that are overseas collecting their paycheck while ducking bullets.

I have to go but more on this later. I will fill you in on why my title is what it is...
